Introduction to PhotoPuppet

Create funny cartoons out of your drawings and photos. You control animated puppets which can be created from images and ready to use templates. Your movies can be uploaded to YouTube, sent via email or saved in your iPhone camera roll.

Items/puppets can be animated using gestures, and have multiple changing frames – when combined together this creates stunning visual results with minimal effort.

Why animation? Because there are scenes you couldn’t possibly record with your camcorder. Use your imagination for…. a spacewalk? a stage performance? a presidential address? greeting soldiers in Red Square? Now imagine the ability to create an e-card where you yourself play the main role. Dispatch your recording as a YouTube video or email attachment! No more generic, cloned greeting cards all looking the same – it’s time for personalized content freshly generated by you, with ease!

It’s an animation studio!

PhotoPuppet comes with a feature-rich frame editor, which allows you to create objects and actors for your animation. You can build puppets out of  several existing objects by joining them together and separately animating each existing part. You can also  set up their frame-based movement before using them in animation. PhotoPuppet’s Frame Editor can also help you when you need to cut-out your actors from the photo’s background. It’s easy.

Combine different animation elements

You can make your animation out of existing objects and presets, or mix them with your own content. It’s done by pulling content from the left-hand side (puppets) or right-hand side (backgrounds). This way you can include in your animation whatever you like or even add completely new pieces from PhotoLibrary or directly from your camera! You can also control depth of the field (which objects are closer to the camera and which are in the back) with the slider on top of the screen – have you ever seen an animation toolkit on Iphone that can do that?

Lights, camera, action!

It’s never been so easy to create animation – move puppets with your fingers on the screen while recording! If your puppets have different frames – you can switch them and animate a puppet at the same time. It’s possible to lock some objects (like backgrounds), or select single objects for recording while preserving others intact. All this gives you enormous control options over your animation.

Advanced editing needed? It’s embedded!

And if it’s still not enough – you can use full track-based editing capabilities, exactly the kind used in serious video software. With PhotoPuppet Go! there’s no need to use any other tools to finish your animation before you export it to Youtube or share it with your friends. We took care to provide you with all the functions and options necessary for some serious editing.
