We were looking to create software for touchable animation, that would make the animation process easy, thanks to the amazing capabilities of the iPad. What we achieved is much more than we hoped for – we believe, that currently it’s the most complete puppet animation app.

We don’t see any limitation in applying this software for all sort of needs; you can create your own cartoons, presentations, photo showcases, funny stories, episodes for YouTube distribution, collaterals, learning materials… you name it. With virtually no skills nor animation background you can make an impression with your animation.

Consider PhotoPuppet as an animation toolkit for your digital content. You’re not limited to any content provided with the application - any templates we deliver are not necessary to build your own animation. You can use your photos, drawings, pictures or import any content from the Internet. Having that you can create your own puppets and animate them. Some may be easy (in PhotoPuppet just cut out your creature from your photo and you’re good to go), some may be pretty complex (like our exemplary 8-legged millipedes or dragons delivered with the application).

All this gives you a completely new, intuitive, cartoon-like animation capability on your iPad. Digitial puppeteering – that’s what it is! A toolkit with no ads, no boundaries (we don’t lock you into any proprietary content), no limits for your creativity. They told you that you can only consume content on your iPad? Our guess is that they lied!Possible usages? Endless, consider this:

  • Bring life to your kid’s drawing fantasies. Capture drawings (scan them or make a picture), bring them to PhotoPuppet, cut into pieces that can be separately controlled (like legs, hands, arms etc) and allow your kids to play and record movies where their characters play the main role!
  • Explain your ideas online, better than on a flip chart or computer screen. Import your slides or drawings into PhotoPuppet, record your story by highlighting important pieces, pointing to the most informative content – all this can be recorded and then shared with others by YouTube right from this handy app!

Add your own backgrounds and make your own puppets – PhotoPuppet HD lets you do all these things in just a few minutes! Or you can use the many included templates, prepared with photo-drop zones where you can easily add – let’s say – your photo to a puppet’s body.

Export your video to YouTube, share on Facebook, send via email to your friends, or share with your followers on Twitter!  Your video can be uploaded in 3 resolutions: 320×240, 640×480 and 1024×768. Even HD quality available! Your creations can also be shared as projects with other PhotoPuppet users. Your project is sent via email and can be received by iPad or iPhone/iPod Touch and opened with PhotoPuppet HD or PhotoPuppet Go!

    Hi,
I love this app, except for the fact that no matter what setting I try, the exported video does not seem to be in HD. I am wondering if I am doing it wrong!

If you are using PhotoPuppet HD, please check if you set in “Settings” the Resolution to 1024×768.
If not, please send us an email with screenshots (photopuppet at morriscooke.com), what settings have you tried. (For PhotoPuppet Go for iPhone, there’s a similar setting).
